Birthday 08

As most people know, I'm not one to celebrate my birthdays. Never did care much for it. This time is a bit different. I'm in Chicago. Friends and family all chipped in to have some fun.

Started out on the strike of midnight. Fulton Lounge. Seemed like a trendy little bar with a good mix of people. Friends insisted trying to get me 'wasted'. It's not hard to achieve that. After 4 shooters, I was already buzzed. So, we hit the club, La Passage. Jim's friend was the host of the party.. got us in. Even though I was not in 'dress code'. Nice guy. People tried to get me bday drinks... but, I was far into it.. I wouldn't handle another. I was done for.

It was just like partying like it was 1999. Seriously. It was. Except..I'm old. And my body is 2008. Still, it was a blast.

Hungover for the duration of the day.

Plans for the day changed like the wind. Waterpark nixed. Too tired for the zoo. So, we decided to just have some simple family fun with a kiddie pool right outside the house. Turned out it was the best thing we could've done. We were just too old. haha

Kohan's for dinner. Japanese/Korean mix. Not bad. Funny watching our 'new' waiter though.

Yea.. I'm still 33.

May, Al, Jim.. you guys rock. You know how to make a guy feel old. Still can't believe we're all married with children!

Taste of Chicago

Something Lina wanted to do for as long as I can remember. Go to the Taste of Chicago. Today was that day.
Got access to an awesome parking pass. (Thanks Ben!) Wasn't hot, wasn't too sunny, wasn't cold, wasn't TOO big a crowd(I remember it being a lot worse), and most importantly... Persephanie wasn't TOO cranky. It was awesome.

For 72 tickets @ $48.00:
Got a taste for:
- 2 giant BBQ turkey drumsticks
- 1 platter of seafood tempura
- 1 boneless BBQ rib sandwich
- 2 small taste of Rainbow ice cream
- 1 full scoop of Rainbow ice cream in a waffle cone
- 1 Eli's turtle cheesecake
- 1 Eli's strawberry cheesecake
- 1 Italian ice (mango and blue raspberry)

To walk off the food, a trip to Buckingham Fountain. Seems fitting this time around.. "Married with children"

Then for dinner we went to Joy Yee's. Awesome.

Canada Day BBQ! (aka Worstly Organized BBQ Eva)

Last minute BBQ turned out awesome! Over 50 guests showed up. The weather was hot and perfect.

Part of the park.. the jungle gym... was burnt down by some vandals last night. Lina was pretty upset about that. Other than that, this was a pretty good venue. A soccer field, lots of big tall trees for shade, great huge water park, jungle gym (if it wasn't burnt), climbing wall, BBQ pit gazebo, and washroom facilities. Best part... it's across the street from Sephie's grandma's house.

Favorite dad

I'm pretty sure I'm her favorite dad.
