The "not so" Great Pumpkin Patch
Gone back to our usual "Great Pumpkin Patch" that we had visited every fall with Persephanie. This year's harvest looked bleek. So sad.

So.. we hopped over to the farmer's market down the street.

Summer Reading Club 2010
At the start of the summer...

Names posted on windows at the library. Took me 1/2 hour to find her tag!! There were thousands to look through!

Graduation day!! Finished off the summer with a nice award ceremony. (I still feel like Lina and I earned this award... as we were the ones that read to her everyday.)
Pancakes served up by the local fire department. Big band, RCMP, clowns. Games, rainbow parachute with balls, and bubbles were part of the event. Big turnout.

Bath time is always amusing. Well, her English is getting better and better each day.

Update: Garden
We knew we started gardening late this year. We knew it was just a 'test' to see if we can even grow anything. Well...the stuff grew... and plenty. Too bad the season's almost over and our veggies are nowhere near harvest. Sad
It's not all lost, we did learn things about gardening. Self-watering containers ROCKS!! They are absolutely awesome. I think I found the perfect place to grow these guys.. on our roof-top balcony! All sun all day long.. and NO insects! The planters we have (below) ground level.. have many pests.
Like our Kale bush... it's been growing like mad.. unfortunately, they've been riddled with pests. (spiders, little green bugs, little white bugs, puffy green bugs, yuk!)
Our 2 blueberry bushes have now been transplanted into the ground. Let's hope they'll survive the winter!
Green and Red Peppers (Red ones become red AFTER they are grown up.... that's why you don't see any) Too many to count here!

Big Beef Tomatoes. Too bad they're not big (And too bad they're not beef!) O well.. these tiny little suckers was fun to watch grow anyways.

PNE 2010
The annual trip to the "Too-cheap-to-pay-for-admission" Day at the Pacific National Exhibition. Rain was expected.. but turned out to be great. Huge turnout as it was the park's 100th birthday.

Duck prize

Fear Factor

Here's Persephanie learning the value of a (fake-PNE) dollar...

But, the fake dollar was traded in for a real carton of chocolate milk! Yum!
Sharing a cotton candy with Angie. BFF.

Colleen and Karina's Going Away Bash
Been awhile since I've blogged, I know. (one whole month to be exact)
Colleen and Karina had come back home from Taiwan for the summer. And is leaving already! :'(
So, as the weather has been great, it's a good enough reason to party. And party it up at our favourite park. Lina made a fantastic arrangement of sweet candy skewers. Awesome idea. Looks even awesomer!
Good times had by all.
Thanks everyone that helped out!
Until next time, Colleen and Karina!!
Note: I make a special appearance in these pics!
